"CaseMetrix is very helpful to me in appreciating what juries have done in prior cases. I recently searched CaseMetrix to specifically determine an appropriate amount to present to a Dekalb County jury on a premises rape case. I asked for a figure based upon the search results, and on 11/11/11, the jury returned a verdict of $9,000,000 which is the largest verdict for a rape case in Georgia." - Michael Neff, The Law Offices of Michael L. Neff
"I recently used CaseMetrix reports to settle a case at mediation for $212,500 which was appreciably more than my initial evaluation. The last offer prior to mediation was $25,000. I shared the CaseMetrix reports with opposing counsel and my mediator, and this not only expedited negotiations, but resulted in a higher settlement figure, leaving me with a very happy client." - Douglas R. Powell, Hinton & Powell, Atlanta, GA
“My client fell in oil in a gas station parking lot where she was an invitee. She injured her left knee and a diagnostic arthroscopy revealed chondromalacia of the patella. The surgeon opined that the fall was the direct cause of the chondromalacia and need for the surgery. He assigned a 4% permanent impairment to her lower left extremity and medicals totaled $15,177.82. Prior to filing suit, we demanded $76,000 and the adjuster’s initial offer was $25,000, stating this was near the top of her settlement authority. I then performed a search on CaseMetrix for knee injuries, surgical and non-surgical, with and without a permanent impairment rating. The search results substantiated my prior opinion that the case was worth approximately $50,000 to $60,000. I shared the CaseMetrix PDF reports with the adjuster and the case promptly settled for $52,000. Without CaseMetrix I am sure this case would currently be in litigation as the adjuster was unreasonable in her initial assessment and did not fully appreciate the value of the claim.” - Gini Lynn Jenkins, Brooks Law Firm, Savannah, GA
"I was recently involved with a mediation where both parties had grown tired and the negotiations appeared at an impasse. Our mediator suggested my client and I review some of the more recent activity in the county where the suit was pending. We agreed; and within minutes the mediator returned to our room with five cases from the CaseMetrix system. The cases were filled with valuable information. I truly believe that having the CaseMetrix information made the difference in the negotiations. With so much relevant information readily available, we were able to resolve the case to everyone's satisfaction." - Chan Caudell, Caudell & Hotard LLC, Cornelia, GA

Defense Attorneys
"We have recently utilized CaseMetrix reports as supporting documentation for 2 successful removals from Fulton County to the United States District Court in Atlanta. The data contained in the CaseMetrix reports provided necessary evidence to establish the jurisdictional amount of $75,000. The case searches were quick and produced cases that were on point in terms of the specific injuries and specials required." - Gene Major, Fain, Major and Brennan, Atlanta, GA
"I utilized CaseMetrix reports for the first time in mediation yesterday. I incorporated recent, relevant county specific CaseMetrix reports into my Power Point presentation and they were very persuasive. Opposing counsel used some Westlaw reports from different counties utilizing specials that were not consistent with the specials in my case. These differences were apparent to the mediator and to the plaintiffs. My CaseMetrix reports were not even challenged. I was able to also use the reports to challenge opposing counsel's claims regarding the alleged liberal nature of our jurisdiction, as well. In my case, involving significant exposure, I was able to settle the claim at a figure that was fair and reasonable and most importantly, avoided litigation which is of increasing importance in the competitive insurance defense market. My monthly subscription pales in comparison to the amount of money I saved my client the first time I used CaseMetrix, and a happy client is pleased to cover the modest cost." - Steve Kyle, Partner, Bovis Kyle & Burch, Atlanta, GA
“An insurance client recently called me and needed wrongful death jury verdict data for a senior citizen case in a hurry. I called CaseMetrix and within 15 minutes I had an email back with 15 recent verdicts directly on topic. I simply forwarded the results to the client. CaseMetrix made me look good as the client was thrilled to have the information so quickly.” - Robb Cruser, Cruser & Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
"We recently had a corporate client who requested an emergent verdict and settlement search. We had just subscribed to CaseMetrix, so I had the most up-to-date Georgia data at my fingertips and I was able to email pdf summaries of pertinent cases in a matter of minutes. My partners and I love the real-time nature of the data and the user-friendly interface, while our clients appreciate knowing the real value of cases without a doubt. " - Warner Fox, Sr. Partner, Hawkins & Parnell, Atlanta, GA

“Case Metrix information just helped me settle a case; it is unquestionably (even for opposing counsel) an unbiased, objective source in an area (tort lawsuits) where there are very few. I remain surprised that this wasn’t invented 20 years ago, and sure wish I had it for the last 20 years.” - Douglas R. Kertscher, Hill Kertscher & Wharton, Atlanta, GA
"I just used CaseMetrix at a mediation. I actually let the mediator, Joe Murphey, take my laptop in to Plaintiff's caucus room to show results. The list of cases was extremely helpful in showing the Plaintiff (and her lawyer) what has happened in the real world. I have no doubt it influenced her expectations (and helped her lawyer get her to face reality) and therefore get the case settled. My insurance rep was also very impressed." - Robert R. Gunn II, Martin Snow, LLP, Macon, GA
"I used it and love it. I was amazed with as much as I got and it was right up to date. This thing can only get better." - Pat White, Casey Gilson, Atlanta, GA
"This isn’t even comparable to anything I’ve ever seen on the market. It’s so much better." - J. Holder Smith, Jr., Young, Thagard, Hoffman, Smith & Lawrence, Valdosta, GA
Mediators
"I mediate cases daily and have come to heavily rely on the objective data reported in the CaseMetrix settlement and verdict database. Most of my searches can be run in a matter of seconds, and time is often an issue. I recently had a complex case in which the value was hotly disputed by the parties and they were prepared to leave. Once I produced CaseMetrix reports for review by counsel for both parties, we were able to resolve the matter calmly, and the parties and attorneys were satisfied with the settlement. CaseMetrix gives everyone in the mediation room an undeniable reality check, because it reflects Georgia cases that are directly on point and it's constantly being updated. It's the best resource available to me as a mediator." - Victor Faenza, BAY Mediation & Arbitration, Atlanta, GA
“As a mediator I often use CaseMetrix to get cases settled. Recently I used the database to assist an insurance adjuster trying to determine the value of a knee replacement case and to demonstrate to a plaintiff she had overvalued her soft tissue case. In both instances the parties were persuaded that their valuations were out of step with actual settlements and verdicts. Not only did the cases settle but the parties felt better about their decision to compromise.” - John Miles, Miles Mediation, Atlanta, GA
“I have found CaseMetrix an invaluable tool for helping get cases settled. I particularly like the ability to tailor searches based on multiple variables, from injury type to amount of special damages to whether the plaintiff was a driver or passenger. The reports provide an effective objective framework on which the attorneys can base or adjust the valuation of their cases, and help demonstrate to the client the range of possible outcomes. I cannot think of mediating without it.” - Christopher Annunziata, CKA Mediation and Arbitration Services, LLC, Atlanta, GA
"CaseMetrix is the very thing that has been missing in my mediation practice." - Judge Gino Brogdon, BAY Mediation, Atlanta, GA
